Tongkat Ali and Testosterone: What the Research Behind Horse Force Says
Quick answer
A 2022 meta-analysis of clinical trials found tongkat ali may raise total testosterone in men. Horse Force lists tongkat ali root in its 1,200 mg Test Boost Proprietary Blend, but the label does not say how much of that 1,200 mg is tongkat ali. So the study cannot tell you what one serving of Horse Force will do.
What is tongkat ali, and why is it in Horse Force?
Tongkat ali is the root of a small tree from Southeast Asia. Its plant name is Eurycoma longifolia Jack.
Horse Force lists tongkat ali root powder as one of eight ingredients in its Test Boost Proprietary Blend. The blend name itself says "Test Boost", and tongkat ali is the ingredient in that list with the most human research on testosterone.
Where the name shows up on the bottle
Look at the Supplement Facts side of the bottle. The blend line reads 1,200 mg. Under it, tongkat ali powder sits second, after horny goat weed extract. No amount is printed next to it.

Why the blend name is not a claim
A blend name is a label choice. It is not a health claim the brand has to back up with a study. The claims that matter sit on the front of the bottle, and each one carries an asterisk that points to the FDA disclaimer. So read "Test Boost" as a hint about the brand's goal, not as a measured result.
What did the 2022 meta-analysis find about tongkat ali and testosterone?
A 2022 systematic review and meta-analysis pooled clinical trials in men. It found that tongkat ali may raise serum total testosterone (Leisegang et al., 2022).
That is a real signal, and it is why tongkat ali shows up in so many men's formulas. But a pooled result is not a promise for any one person.
What a meta-analysis can tell you
- It adds up results from several trials, so one small study does not carry the whole answer.
- It shows the direction of the effect across those trials: in this case, total testosterone may go up.
- It points to tongkat ali itself, taken as tested in those trials.
What it cannot tell you
- It did not test Horse Force or any blend with the same eight ingredients.
- It cannot tell you the tongkat ali dose in a Horse Force serving.
- It does not say how you will feel. Testosterone on a lab report and energy in daily life are different things.
How much tongkat ali is in Horse Force?
The amount is not published. The label gives one number for the whole blend: 1,200 mg per 2-capsule serving.
That 1,200 mg is shared by eight ingredients. Tongkat ali could be a large part of it or a small part. There is no way to tell from the bottle.
| What you want to know | What the Horse Force label says |
|---|---|
| Serving size | 2 capsules |
| Servings per bottle | 30 (60 capsules) |
| Total blend per serving | 1,200 mg |
| Tongkat ali per serving | Not published |
| Tongkat ali plant part | Root, as powder |
| Extract ratio or standard | Not published |
This is how proprietary blends work. They list the total but not the split. Our ingredients guide walks through all eight names.
How does tongkat ali compare with the rest of the Horse Force blend?
Tongkat ali has the strongest human evidence for testosterone in this blend. The other ingredients have less, or evidence that points the other way.
| Ingredient | What the evidence says | Amount in Horse Force |
|---|---|---|
| Tongkat ali root | A 2022 meta-analysis found it may raise total testosterone in men (Leisegang et al., 2022) | Not published |
| Saw palmetto fruit | Studied for prostate symptoms, with little or no benefit found (NCCIH, 2025) | Not published |
| Boron amino acid chelate | Adult upper limit 20 mg a day; usual diets give about 1 to 1.5 mg (NIH ODS) | Not published |
| Wild yam root | The body does not turn wild yam into testosterone | Not published |
| Horny goat weed leaf | Mostly lab research; little human data | Not published |
| Orchic substance | Animal testicular tissue; source and processing not published | Not published |

What should Horse Force buyers keep realistic?
Keep the label claim in mind, not the blend name. The front of the bottle says "Supports Energy", "Supports Stamina" and "Supports Performance". It does not promise a testosterone number.

Who should ask a doctor before taking tongkat ali in Horse Force?
Anyone with a hormone-sensitive or prostate condition, heart disease or high blood pressure should ask a doctor first. The same goes for anyone on medication.
Tongkat ali and orchic substance both aim at hormones. That is the reason for the extra care.
The full list of label cautions is on our side effects page.
How does the Horse Force label say to take it?
The label says to take one or two capsules a day with an 8 oz glass of water. Do not take more than that.
Start with the label
Read the Supplement Facts and caution text before the first capsule.
Take 1 or 2 capsules
Use an 8 oz glass of water. Two capsules is the full serving on the panel.
Store it well
Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place, away from heat, light and humidity.

What should you ask about any tongkat ali product, including Horse Force?
Ask the same five questions of every bottle. They work for Horse Force and for any other brand on the shelf.
| Question | Why it matters | Horse Force answer |
|---|---|---|
| Is the tongkat ali amount printed? | Research is tied to doses; a blank amount can't be matched to a study | No, blend total only |
| Which plant part is used? | Trials used the root | Root powder |
| Is the claim modest? | Big promises are a warning sign | "Supports" energy, stamina, performance |
| Is there a lot number? | It lets the seller trace a batch | Lot HOR-26/MY-3029, a reference label |
| Is the seller named? | You need someone to call about refunds | An order desk that answers the phone |
The lot and CoA numbers are reference labels, not lab proof. Our batch check page explains what they can and cannot show.

Does Horse Force raise testosterone?
The label does not claim that. It says the formula supports energy, stamina and performance. The blend is named "Test Boost", but no study has tested the finished Horse Force formula.
How much tongkat ali is in one serving?
That amount is not published. The label lists only the 1,200 mg total for the whole eight-ingredient blend, per 2 capsules.
Is tongkat ali the same as Eurycoma longifolia?
Yes. Tongkat ali is the common name for Eurycoma longifolia Jack. The Horse Force label lists it as a root powder.
Can I take Horse Force with testosterone therapy?
Ask your doctor first. The blend contains tongkat ali and orchic substance, and both are aimed at hormones. Your doctor knows your dose and lab results.
Where can I see the full label?
